Digital Subscriptions for Schools, Libraries and Institutions

For an additional charge, digital institutional subscriptions are also available through username and password access. Alternatively IP authentication can be provided. This allows access to the digital version of the magazine for anybody accessing the internet via the institution's system (including, for example, wi-fi access enabled via the institution's routers). The Independent Press Awards are selected by the editors of Utne Reader magazine to 'honour independent efforts that provide bold, innovative, thought-provoking alternatives to mass media fare.' The New Internationalist magazine won the inaugural 1989 award for International Coverage.
Since then, the magazine has won the award for 'Best International Coverage' another eight times, most recently in 2013. In the year 2000 the New Internationalist also won the highly valued readers' poll.
