A strong and roomy utility basket, handcrafted from colourful chindi fabrics and jute. Ideal for the market, park, beach and beyond. Sturdy handles span the length of the basket.
Chindi fabrics are handmade in India from recycled jute and cotton, using fabric offcuts from clothing or furniture manufacturers. Cloth pieces are distributed to families in regional India. They supplement their regular income by weaving long chindi cords or twines from the materials, which are then woven and stitched to make these bags.
The New Internationalist brings to life the people, the ideas and the action in the fight for global justice.
I do enjoy your magazine - it provides a good balance to a lot of the right-wing / conservative and pro-big-business-dominated media.
The New Internationalist magazine has won the Media Peace Prize, awarded for an outstanding contribution to world peace and development.
Thank you for producing such an important publication.
New Internationalist weighs the world on the scales of justice. By tapping into a vast global network of activists, the compassionately written and tightly edited magazine breathes life into the stories of people who are working to build a better planet.
A little about Global Mamas: Global Mamas is a Fair Trade cooperative in Ghana, West Africa, supporting the sustainable development of women artisans producing fair trade products
New Internationalist Australia is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization, which means we have to stock a percentage of Fair Trade products, and also adhere to Fair Trade practices ourselves. Great for supporting producers rights, and also for our staff.
