I've always been profoundly impressed by the quality of its research and its writing and how readily accessible it makes otherwise complex world affairs. Each of its ten annual editions is a short course in something profound.

Thank you for your wonderful magazine. I look forward to receiving it every month and always find a lot to think about when I read it.

The New Internationalist magazine is not being screwed or manipulated by any dominant ideological group or any dominant corporate interest. Therefore the New Internationalist editorial is genuinely the New Internationalist editorial.

How many articles are there in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? How many of them can you list?

Published on the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this full-colour laminated wall chart re-affirms a commitment by individuals, communities and governments, to principles which will shape the world for the future.

Sadly, many of the articles are particularly relevant in the current global political climate. Take for example, Article 14: 'Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution...'. Or Article 26: '... Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace...'
