New Internationalist is an ongoing education and a monthly reminder of our common humanity. A wonderful readable guide to the social and political forces that shape our world...With its hard-hitting coverage of world affairs, evocative first-person essays, sweeping exposes of such topics as land mines and the geopolitics of blue jeans, the New Internationalist offers a consistently unique and important perspective on global culture.
Thank you for a wonderful magazine.
The magazine is a secular publication. Readers, both Christian and non-Christian, may not always agree with all its conclusions. But it is an excellent catalyst for better informed thought and action. It pulls no punches yet at the same time is written with sensitivity and compassion could be of immense help in our becoming more globally aware and responsible citizens.
The New Internationalist is exactly the sort of intelligent, committed and progressive publication which here at The Chaser, we strongly disapprove of.

Wouldn't you like to cook using FREE energy? With this great solar cooker you can make tasty meals for four to six people within hours, using nothing but the sun.
The Aussie Solar Oven is a lightweight, foldable, panel-style solar cooker. Perfect for your favourite slow-baked recipes, stews and curries, it works extremely well for a whole variety of dishes including meats, vegetables, rice and bread.
Convenient for home, camping and emergencies, it works well in sunny, warm months almost anywhere in Australia, including Tasmania. In most southern regions of Australia there are a few months when the solar cooker may have limited usefulness due to low solar radiation intensity. In general, you can use it when the length of your shadow on the ground is shorter than your height. Shadows, clouds and inclement weather limit their effectiveness.
When tested on a sunny day in January in Sydney, a BBQ for 2-3 people, including hard vegetables like corn, was cooked in less than an hour. In Adelaide in October, a rice and vegetable dish cooked in about 2 hours. The sun is most intense between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, which is when breads and pastries should be baked if possible.
Don't underestimate the power of sunlight. Although the Solar Oven is very safe to use, it cooks at temperatures between 85 and 135 degrees centigrade - please use it carefully by following the instructions you receive with the kit.
