Robins Foods is a manufacturer of Australian native food products, including the Outback Spirit range, pioneering the incorporation of native foods into Australian cuisine, and committed to the meaningful inclusion of Aboriginal people in the growing native foods industry. Robins also work for the environmentally sustainable growth of the native foods industry and the preservation and enhancement of flora and fauna biodiversity that is an integral part of it.

Robins Foods work closely with the traditional agricultural sector in Australia, where many farmers have embraced native food agriculture for landcare reasons as well as income diversification. All indigenous ingredients in Outback Spirit products are purchased exclusively through the Aboriginal-owned Indigenous Australian Foods (IAF). Robins pays a further 10% endorsement fee over and above the price of the indigenous ingredients to IAF, allowing them to further develop their native food businesses, focussing on developing processing and cultivation capacity, skills and employment opportunities at the regional level.

Many of the ingredients are harvested in the traditional manner, often in remote wilderness areas, ensuring they are of pristine quality, untouched by chemicals and fertilisers. Some are also cultivated, but these are also grown with a quality focus, often in permaculture or organic agriculture programs.

Future of Ausralia's Threatened Ecosystems

Robins Foods works on a voluntary basis with Greening Australia and many State Government Regional Development organisations delivering workshops and practical information to farmers about entry into the native foods industry in an environmentally sustainable way. They have recently become closely aligned to the Australian Museum in support of its FATE (Future of Australia’s Threatened Ecosystems) program. Both Robins and FATE are working to preserve and enhance the biodiversity of Australia’s flora and fauna through the adoption and expansion of native foods agriculture.
