I can certainly commend the New Internationalist for quick postage & handling - I ordered it on the web and it arrived at my door within 2-3 days, awesome compared to the usual 1 month+ with Amazon!

The magazine is a secular publication. Readers, both Christian and non-Christian, may not always agree with all its conclusions. But it is an excellent catalyst for better informed thought and action. It pulls no punches yet at the same time is written with sensitivity and compassion … could be of immense help in our becoming more globally aware and responsible citizens.

This full-colour wall map illustrates the hidden bias of conventional map projections.

What makes the Peters Projection World Map so distinctive is that countries are shown in their correct proportions. Usually Europe appears much larger than South America - whereas it is in fact only half the size. This also means that the equator is placed in the middle, instead of the usual allocation of 2/3 of the map to the northern hemisphere, and only 1/3 to the southern hemisphere. The Peters Projection World Map gets it right.

One of the most controversial images of the world, the Peters Map was first introduced by Dr. Arno Peters in 1974, and generated a firestorm of debate. Peters was one of the first to assert that maps are unavoidably political. His map claimed to show "Fairness to All Peoples" providing an area accurate portrayal of the world. Today, this equal area map continues to have passionate fans as well as staunch critics.

Important Features of the Peters Map:

- The Peters Map is an equal area map.
- This new map shows all areas - whether countries, continents or oceans - according to their actual size. Accurate - comparisons become possible.
- All North-South lines run vertical on this map. Thus, geographic points can be seen in their precise directional relationship.
- All East-West Lines run parallel.

This map is available in a laminated easy-clean format which can be marked with a felt-tip pen, or folded to A4 size and unlaminated.
