"For many years I have read the New Internationalist magazine with great respect. Many an article I have written, and film I have made, have had their roots in something I read in the NI."
- John Pilger - journalist and film-maker
"Appreciate your attention to detail and as always regard NI as one of the best sources of info on social-welfare, justice and environmental issues on a global scale. Keeps it all in perspective, which becomes increasingly harder to do in the info-overload age!"
- L.Holme, New Internationalist reader
"I've always been profoundly impressed by the quality of its research and its writing and how readily accessible it makes otherwise complex world affairs. Each of its ten annual editions is a short course in something profound."
- John Harvey - Editor - Wednesday Weekly
"The Independent Press Awards are selected by the editors of Utne Reader magazine to 'honour independent efforts that provide bold, innovative, thought-provoking alternatives to mass media fare.' The New Internationalist magazine won the inaugural 1989 award for International Coverage. Since then, the magazine has won the award for 'Best International Coverage' another seven times. In the year 2000 the New Internationalist also won the highly valued readers' poll."

Ethiopian Organic Fair Trade Coffee : Whole Beans
From the birthplace of coffee

From the birthplace of coffee comes this delicious Sidamo Ethiopia Gold coffee, roasted to perfection. Certified Fairtrade and organic, it's much better for the farming families, the environment and for your health.

The Fairtrade label on the packet is your guarantee that this coffee meets internationally agreed Fairtrade standards.

The Oromia Farmers Union buys coffee from grower cooperatives and sells it directly to overseas buyers. 70% of net profit goes back directly to the farmers, and the extra Fairtrade Premium you pay goes back to the cooperatives for community benefit.

The Negele Gorbitu Cooperative is just one of 74 cooperatives forming the Oromia Farmers Union, and over a 2 year period Negele Gorbitu built a new clinic and a school for 300 children from the Fairtrade Premium.

250 gm packs, available as medium ground or whole beans.
