T-Shirt Travels DVD

T-Shirt Travels takes us from an urban charity clothing store in the US to a remote, desperately poor fishing village in Zambia, Southern Africa to investigate the secondhand clothes business, and examine the growing inequalities that exist between the first and third world.

This award winning program reveals how poverty is tied to obstacles imposed by third world debt and the harsh economic conditions dictated by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. As the population grows poorer and poorer, the enduring spirit and resilience of the people remain. We hear from villagers who sell secondhand clothes, and from Africans who explain the challenges they face in a global economy.
