Through the eyes of her grand-daughter, Tarrah, respected Bunitj elder Jane Christophersen reveals the beauty of life in Kakadu and the significance of the changing seasons to those who live there.

This is a wonderful children's book - bringing to life the animals and plants of the area while explaining the cooking, hunting and gathering procedures and the six seasons of the year - and what foods you can expect to find in them.

Striking illustrations by Jane's daughter, (award winning artist Christine Christophersen, who received a "highly commended" in the Telstra Art Awards) show all the elements of daily life as Tarrah goes bush with her family gathering fruits, fishing and hunting. The book also includes a mud map and additional information about the six seasons of Kakadu.
