The Bittersweet World of Chocolate
The first Fair Trade chocolate cookbook

Fabulous new ideas for delicious dishes to make with fair trade chocolate - from the famous South American savoury molés to turkey in chocolate sauce, to chocolate banana bread and chocolate cake with lemon filling.

While cooking you can dip into the turbulent history of cocoa and find out about the pain and pleasure of chocolate, from the cocoa producers to the chocoholics; from the early history to today's world, with a look at advertising and seduction along the way; and from the might of the big chocolate companies to the gathering force of Fair Trade.

Includes:

  • Fifty recipes from around the world
  • Stories, illustrations and factfiles
  • Recipe photographs from an award-winning studio

"I look forward to the day when a much larger percentage of [cocoa] that we grow is sold at a fair price. This will happen because people will read books like this BitterSweet World of Chocolate. More consumers will want it, governments will support it and ultimately companies will see it is right."
Mr Kwabena Ohemeng-Tinyase, Managing Director, Kuapa Kokoo (Cocoa Co-op), Ghana
